Masters Thesis / Dissertation Explanation: This is the closest you can get. In Norway, "hovedoppgave" is the dissertation you submit after completing your "Hovedfag", which is something inbetween a Masters and a PhD. I'd say "Master's Dissertation". |

Master('s) Thesis Explanation: The University of Oslo translates it indeed as "Thesis": Thesis(Hovedoppgave). Thesis: 2 hours per week in-depth lectures in areas of specialisation. 30-40 hours workshops on thesis design and writing. 10 hours of individual tutorials. http://www.uio.no/english/ects/sv/sociology/socio/advanced/h...
