With no disrespect to Pieter - We would fine tune this to "Previously we have sold this software to customers within the Norwegian defence industry (although industry is not stated - it is certainly implied and would be understood as such in UK English)

Why complicate matters? "Forsvarskunder" can certainly be "customers (with)in the defence industry", but this kind of excludes the defence (the Norwegian military) itself.
