Oczywiście istnieje określenie historyczne "łowczy", vide np. wikipedia. Współcześnie nazwa ta jest nadal używana jako tytuł np. łowczy okręgowy.
Jeśli jednak jest to zwykły myśliwy to oczywiście Alma ma rację i jest to "jager".

| Grading comment Dziękuję. Najbardziej pasuje, gdyż chodzi w tekście o doświadczonego myśliwego, organizatora polowań współczesnie. Zastanawiłem sie tez nad określeniem jachtopzichter ale jest to bardziej określenie zawodowe.
