Ja bym tu zmieniła kolejność i dała.
40-60% of panthotenic acid is absorbed from the diet (ewentualnie consumed).
Diet używa się zarówno w odniesieniu do ludzi, jak i do zwierząt.
Tak się mówi, oczywiście, o ile nie chodzi ti o jakąś żelazną rację pokarmową przewidzianą na warunki ekstremalne obozu przetrwania. Założyłam, że nie i że racja pokarmowa ma oznaczać po prostu przyjmowane pożywienie. Może się mylę.

coś mi niezbyt jasno wyszło ewentualnie consumed diet, ale moim zdaniem to nie jest potrzebne. Jalo rzecze Wikipedia:

"In nutrition, the diet is the sum of the food consumed by a body. Proper nutrition for a human requires vitamins, minerals, proteins, and fuel in the form of carbohydrates and fats. Imbalances between the consumed fuels and expended energy results in either starvation or excessive reserves of adipose tissue, or body fat."

albo jeszcze, jeśli by się ktoś upierał przy tym spożywaniu można powiedzieć "ingested diet".

Explanation:
Na wypadek, gdyby chodziło jednak o tę ściśle określoną rację pokarmową

W zasadzie samo "ration" najczęściej domyślnie oznacza dzienną rację pokarmową, ale zbitki "daily food ration", które są bardziej jednoznaczne, też w literaturze naukowej się spotyka.
