neutral  Polangmar: Kształt się zgadza, ale nadzienie już nie (typowe nadzienie uszek "wigilijnych" to grzyby, czasem z kapustą). They are typically stuffed with a mix of meat (pork loin, prosciutto) or cheese. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tortellini No i to włoskie słowo.

@ Rafał: maybe it's because the 'uszka' butchered by me are less shapely than they ought to be. Merry X-mas to you, too and to everyone!

neutral  Rafal Piotrowski: Hm; mushroom (-filled) tortellini, sorry. "Ravioli" are dumplings/pierogi. "Borscht" is OK, though. Merry Xmas :)

-> :) all I'll say is that all the hordes of Italian guests I 've ever had the pleasure to entertain for an X-mas dinner referred to my home-made disaster of 'uszka' as 'ravioli' and occasionally 'cappelletini' (more of an Argent. provenance)

neutral  *eva*: I agree, most people I know here in the UK would call it "ravioli," and that's also what the English version of the label says on the packet of "uszka" I bought this year in the Polish shop for Christmas. Although they def. look more like tortellini
