Winiarska opinia publiczna ma prawo poznać te szczegóły, tym bardziej, że doprowadziły do niefortunnej wypowiedzi Ministra godzącej w wizerunek polskiego winiarstwa.

The only translation I can think of is "laughing in the face of..." but I am not sure if I am correct.
