Since I don't trust politicians to have a "clean" flat tax I'd prefer a consumer tax....if there's one thing in this country that every American does it's "consume". That way if you don't want to pay the taxes on a Mercedes you don't buy one....you get something cheaper. People who have more money and buy more expensive things pay more taxes....not a higher rate....just more taxes.
