early stillbirth (intrauterine death) Explanation: An early stillbirth is a fetal death occurring between 20 and 27 completed weeks of gestation. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 3 hrs (2009-01-13 01:21:30 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Stillbirth is the death of a baby inside the womb. http://www.womens-health.co.uk/stillbirth.html This could be due to many factors. Missed labour on the other hand (according to the source of your definition) = "brief uterine contractions which do not lead to labour and expulsion of the infant". So these are two completely different situations. The Polish phrase "ciąża wczesna obumarła" I presume refers to a pregnancy type not to the labour process itself (i.e. parturition or delivery process or an attempt to expel or deliver a baby). Please correct me if I am wrong. Reference: http://www.cdc.gov/ncbddd/bd/stillbirths.htm |
