LUNETA - odkryte od tyłu dzieło fortyfikacyjne typu polowego lub stałego o 1-2 czołach i 2 barkach wykonanych w postaci wałów ziemnych osłoniętych fosą.
RAWELIN - (patrz: rysunek) w twierdzy bastionowej dzieło fortyfikacyjne zbudowane na planie trójkąta, usytuowane przed kurtyną. Spełniał rolę osłony kurtyny narysu bastionowego lub kojca w narysie poligonalnym. Działa ustawione na ławie artyleryjskiej rawelinu prowadziły ogień na przedpole wspólnie z artylerią bastionów.
