W naszym zakładzie badane są skóry garbowane różnymi metodami (roślinnie, solami glinu itp.) oraz pergaminy. Do podstawowych badań, jakie są wykonywane standardowo należą: określenie rodzaju skóry (z jakiego zwierzęcia pochodzi), określenie techniki garbowania i rodzajów garbników, pH (w tym: a. wyciąg z próbek na zimno: pH + *liczba dyferencji*, b. badania pH powierzchni metodą stykową, c. mikropomiary pH), badania optyczne (np. L*a*b* w układzie CIE), grubość, zawartość tłuszczu (w przypadku skór garbowanych), temperatura skurczu, obserwacje w świetle UV, badanie higroskopijności, identyfikacja węglanu wapnia lub siarczanu wapnia w pergaminie. |
