Of course,the nota fiscal business is a whole debate. And I won't get into that here!!

Most of the translations I see for Nota Fiscal are baloney...:)

agree  Jane Lamb-Ruiz: yes that is a dictionary answer. But for a NOta Fiscal, there is no Clearing..it is PAid or not paid. Dictonaries don't work in these circumstances. Context helps. and the Poster never gives context, Never. Anyway...
