I understand what you say about inches/centimeters, and under another circumstances, I would have followed your suggestions.
But may be if I give you more info you'll understand what I mean.
This communication strategies have been designed for a Buddhist Temple in Sao Paulo (marketing has no limits! ;-) )
They have received attacks by sectors in the media that are completely ignorant about their teachings and philosophy, so they are trying to improve their image in the community mostly a huge marketing campaign to make people know what Buddhism is really about and encouraging their participation.
So as some "executives" of this Temple apparently live abroad, their Brazilian peers want to tell them what it's all about. In the end, what's important here is that they just need to know that there will be quarterly reports about the temple's presence in the media, in a format (column inches) they would easily understand.

Well, if you are informing "foreign branches", I would be careful in changing company policy from centimeters to inches. It's a completely different measuring system, don't you think? Don't you think you would be misinforming the overseas units?? :)
