neutral  Jane Lamb-Ruiz: Ána Sofia...entrepreneur is a bit grand for this function, isn't it?
4 hrs
-> Thanks for your note, Jane. You could be right, but that's the term used. Sometimes persons like to give "high-top" names to their functions in order to make them more atractive. It could be this situation...

neutral  Lawyer-Linguist: please see my "agree" and reasoning under Jane's contribution. Am a laywer myself, so immediately picked up on the potential issue.

agree  Henrique Serra: lean just like an ad
17 mins
-> thanks Henrique - that's the idea. (To be on the safe side it might be better to use partners though.)

agree  Doreen Carre: Agree, and agree that PARTNERS might be best
55 mins
-> thanks - I also think partners is a better choice

neutral  Jane Lamb-Ruiz: If he had meant agent, why didn't he say so?
1 hr
-> hence my 2nd option partners - which covers all possibilties and is also common in business speak.

neutral  Lawyer-Linguist: agree with Jane, the use of agent or partner should be limited to those cases where the legal implications are intended/evident. Partner is often used widely but implies a relationship of equality.
7 hrs
-> You are right partner is used widely - as for the rest: equality does not necessarily follow.

Estou procurando empreendedores para desenvolverem uma rede de distribuição
I am looking for enterprising individuals to set up a distribution network

Explanation:

the entrepreneur, if any, is the person looking for the others. Although empreendedor may be entrepreneurs is some contexts, it wouldn't be here. Entrepreneur is too high falutin' for this purpose, IMO, in English and in this context.

CHOICES: - self-starters, go getters, enterprising individuals....

Also, I wouldn't cut it down because the Portuguese is a full sentence.

Please note: There was another answer with the word UNDERTAKER in it. The poster has somehow removed his answer and removed mine too. I don\'t know what is going on, but I have never known someone\'s removal of his/her own answer to remove someone else\'s answer. Very odd.

agree  Lawyer-Linguist: I agree with you here Jane. Clearly an enterpreneur here who is looking to set up a distribution network with enterprising individuals (like himself/herself). Partner/agent have definite legal implications and should be avoided, if not specified.
3 hrs
-> thanx...Debbie..i't;s very logical in fact

neutral  Mårten Sandberg: After having investigated the matter, undertaker is also "one who undertakes"(babylon web-dict.) And therefor perhaps better than entrepreneur where I agree w your point.
16 hrs
-> look Marten....it is just not on...experience of the language and knowledge of usage comes first. What can I say but that? It's ridiculous if you want to have it said bluntly....really
