Portuguese term or phrase: de vez

Some fruits are picked green and some can only be picked when fully ripe. Those that are picked green must be fully developed (in size) at picking time. This is what "de vez" means.

de vez - significa que atingiu o máximo de desenvolvimento e que encontra-se apto para amadurecer fora da planta.

Luiza, as mangas devem ser colhidas de vez, mas a cor externa nem sempre é um bom indicativo. O que manda é a cor interna. A cor externa de uma manga "de vez" é diferente de variedade para variedade.

Explanation:
I think mature green is a nice option here.

Fruits require about 35 days to mature green and another two weeks to full maturity. Ethylene enhances ripening similarly to its effect on 'Honey Dew' melons and its application may be of agronomic use, enabling growers to harvest at the breaker stage and store fruit for a longer period (McGlasson and Pratt 1964; Pratt et al. 1977).
