Ao contrário das outras pinturas feitas desde o regresso ao acrílico, todas elas improvisadas em múltiplas camadas de tinta, esta partiu de um desenho preparatório. **No resto**, utiliza o mesmo processo de construção em palimpsesto, que consiste numa primeira fase em que são utilizadas várias cores (e possivelmente alguma figuração), depois cobertas com branco semitransparente. Sobre este são aplicados os tons escuros, negros, cinzentos ou castanhos (em algumas pinturas posteriores foram usados azuis e verdes), que, no jogo de ocultação/revelação das camadas de baixo, desenham riscas verticais, horizontais e elípticas. No canto inferior esquerdo desta obra, essas formas tornam-se dispositivos ópticos para camuflar a grade fora de esquadria. Por fim, uma espessa camada de verniz sela a superfície pictórica.

Am I right in thinking that here 'o resto' refers to the rest of the process of executing this particular painting? ie that, in contrast to his other works, he began with a preliminary study but then used his normal method of working to complete the painting?
