Sugar cane mills and slavery Explanation: A palavra engenho se refere aos engenhos de cana de açúcar, grandes plantações com usinas de beneficiamento da cana de açúcar que utilizavam mão-de-obra escrava. Pelo que sei, a melhor palavra em inglês para descrever isso é "mill" e a máquina de moer a cana é "roller mill". Plantation and slavery Explanation: I don't think it would be mill since in fact they are referring to sugar cane plantations and not just the mill which is part of a sociological whole the plantation. Example sentence(s):
