limited-liability company Explanation: There is a lot of discussion about this type of company, but most translators I know of are using this translation. The "quotas" should be translated as "shares" because the word "quota" is not used in this context in US English, and probably not British either. |

company limited by shares Explanation: I agree totally with DSandin about the word 'cota'. 'Limited liability company' is slightly ambiguous because there are also in English law 'companies limited by guarantee' (a type of non-trading company. Personally, I prefer 'company limited by shares'. |
