an interesting question Explanation: See the web ref below, which indicates where to obtain Portuguese-English translation of terms (translation doesn't in fact appear on the page itself). Look further in google under 'plano oficial contas English', where you may be able to obtain further references. Finally, I base such translations on a parallel set of accounts for a large Spanish company (one Spanish and the other English); these were translated by a prestigious accountancy company (Price Waterhouse), whom it can be supposed is up-to-date on these matters and applies professional standards.
