forgiveable loan Explanation: http://www.energy.iastate.edu/renewable/AssistDev.html "The Renewable Fuel Fund is one of two separate programs under the Value-Added Agricultural Products and Processes Financial Assistance Program. This value-added program combines forgiveable and traditional loans. Approximately 20% of the money awarded to the project is in the form of a forgiveable loan and the remaining 80% is a low-interest loan. The interest rate on the loan is typically lower than prime rate. Research and development projects are not eligible for this program. Past funded projects include, ethanol plants, soy processing plants and biodiesel from soybeans" |

debt-servicing difficulties Explanation: forgiveable loan nas definições do FMI são para países extremamente pobres, abaixo listagem do FMI, se o texto se referir à estes países, esse é o termo correto, são fundos para quitar dividas de países pobres, mas para recorrer a estes fundos é necessário ser classificado dentro dos parametros do FMI At present, the following developing countries are classified as being the heavily indebted poor countries: Angola, Benin, Bolivia, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Congo, Côte d'Ivoire, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Guyana, Honduras, Kenya, Lao PDR, Liberia, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, Mozambique, Myanmar, Nicaragua, Niger, Rwanda, São Tomé and Príncipe, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Sudan, Tanzania, Togo, Uganda, Vietnam, Yemen, and Zambia. However, it should be noted that a debt sustainability analysis in 2000 indicates that Yemen has a sustainable debt burden after the application of traditional debt relief mechanisms. Angola, Kenya, and Vietnam are also expected to be sustainable without special help from the Initiative; and that Lao PDR has indicated that it does not intend to request assistance under the HIPC Initiative. Aqui se encaixa o seu contexto, são países com porblemas em quitarem suas dívidas, o termo usado pelo FMI - deb-servicing difficulties. Financing Assurances An IMF policy developed in response to the external debt crisis of the late 1970s and early 1980s to help mobilize financial support from the international banking community for countries experiencing debt-servicing difficulties. Under the policy, the IMF would not make its resources available to a member undertaking an adjustment program until receiving assurances that the financing for the program would be forthcoming. bad debts Explanation: Ninguém faz um "empréstimo" sabendo que não vai ser pago, é óbvio. O 'BAD DEBT'é uma expressão bancária, que significa um empréstimo (loan), uma dívida que não vai ser paga, porque não podem pagar. Então o banco "cancela" a dívida. O termo todo, em inglês, é : "to scrap a bad debt". Falam muito nisto, no momento, com relao ao 3o. mundo. |
