Bus/Financial - Business/Commerce (general) / Academic paper on innovation
Trying to make the phrase work, any help would be appreciated. It's from an academic paper on social capital management and innovation.

a mere outlet to gather the fruits of R&D (Research and Development)

Explanation:
escoadouro fica mais claro quando usamos outlet.

Example sentence(s):

a mere receptacle for the R&D crop

Explanation:
In some ways the word "escoadouro" (drain, sink, sump) lends a derogatory intonation to the results of R&D which I don´t think was the author's intention. Hence my suggestion above.

nothing more than a vehicle to reap the benefits of R&D

Explanation:
compare with -

In today's globalised world, every nation wants to use the WTO as a vehicle to reap the benefits of trade whilst hiding behind technical barriers to trade, quotas and sanitary and phytosanitary measures (SPS).

Therefore in my mind, CGNU has went from strength to strength over the last 6 months and no reason why EPS should not be 65p+ for 2002 and if stock market conditions improve, then this seems a better vehicle to reap the benefits rather than a unit trust.

The cloud is emerging as a vehicle to reap the benefits of collaboration tools in the form of a service.
