Portuguese term or phrase: carteira de sala de aula

I suppose in normal context this would be described as a school room purse/wallet (hardly a portfolio in this context?), however, I am with a doubt as the text says that two sorts of furniture (mobiliário) were chosen, and a purse, wallet sachel etc are hardly pieces of furniture.
Does this term refer to a special specific piece of school furniture, or does one assume the looser translation alternative of 'mobiliário' to mean accessory here?, however I dont see much point in assessing the ergonomis qualities of a purse/wallet/sachel etc?

It's a bit confusing....in this context here, it is just the piece of furniture.....the desk or writing table if you will.......see meaning #5 in Michaelis dictionary:
