Portuguese term or phrase: Pantógrafo
I am quite aware that the term pantograph exists in English.

However

What I am translating is a text for young children.
Growing up in ther UK I never heard the term pantograph (or catenary for that matter) , so what did we call the big springy thing on the top of the train that touched the over-head cable?

NO techy answers, just kids stuff please
