Portuguese term or phrase: treinamento e capacitação
Can anyone define for me the difference between these two words, for me they both mean training, but many times in papers that I translate, the portuguese version always descriminates between these two terms.
Maybe capacitação could be seen as being a wider term (ie to inlcude qualification.competence etc)

Explanation:
You're right, both of them mean "training" , but "capacitação" is a wider term which for me is closer to "qualification".

"Capacitação" in a general way means , making a person capable of performing a position in a company and giving all the information and tools that he/she might need. I think "qualification" fits well in this case. Don't you think?

training (skills) and training (capacity)

Explanation:
"treinamento" is the training used in sports, but in addition it is used in other linguistic environments

"capacitação" is also training to increase the capacity of the recipient

"formação" is another word for training, quite often professional training
