Portuguese term or phrase: é a nossa praia

Good evening all!

I need a synomyn expression for the portuguese idomatic expression 'é a nossa praia'.
The context in which it is inserted is a saying used to express that culture is the strongest feature of the city of São Paulo, which comes like 'Cultura é a nossa praia.'

I appreciate all the help.

Explanation:
I think this is hard to translate because it's a play on words. 'E a minha praia' is obviously an idiomatic expression in Portuguese meaning 'it's what I like', 'it's what I'm into', but in this case I think it's also referring to the rivalry between Rio and São Paulo: Rio has its beaches, São Paulo city doesn't, but does have more culture to offer. I think it's very hard to get both of these ideas in a translation, but maybe somebody will think of a way.

My suggestion includes the idea that São Paulo is the best city for culture by using 'our thing', as though no other city compares.

Another idea might be "Culture, it's right up our street". This is both an idiom meaning, 'it's just what I like' and also plays on the fact that São Paulo is a city.

Another thought: 'Who needs beaches with culture like ours?' to try and get more of a flavour of the original.

TTYU Retro: Culture is what we DO
The word "culture" sticks out to me. In almost any context where I see it, it makes me curious, and makes me want to comment.

So what is culture?

Well, whole classes have been dedicated to this topic, as you might imagine. Probably one of the first things that comes to mind is "high culture," what we mean when we say someone is "cultured." Art, music, theater, etc. The finer things in life. That's certainly one of its meanings, but it only captures the tiniest part of what culture really is.
