Art/Literary - Idioms / Maxims / Sayings / Possible regionalism
Portuguese term or phrase: Manelzinho Gostoso
Source: transcription of a folk artist from Alagoas talking about his work. His language is colorful, poetic, and often obscure. I am attempting to separate his own idiolectic usage from possible regionalisms. (There are no illustrations available.)

In this case the artist is talking about specific pieces he has carved from wood.
Has anyone heard of “Manelzinho Gostoso”? Has there been a transcription error/misspelling?

disagree  Daniel Tavares: Hi, I do not only disagree with you, Verginia. I disagree with Diane as well. The name Manezinho Gostoso must be preserved. If you wish, you can place an explanation close to it, containing the terms puppet or trapeze clown. Have a nice week.

Asker: Thanks for posting this, Robert. I'm actually going to go just with "puppet" in the text, because it's not clear that there are actually any strings attached. But I am going to correct the glossary entry to reflect what I suspect was an error by the transcriptionist: i.e., Manezinho and not Manelzinho.
