The explanation given by the colleague lexical is correct, but I don't share the reservations about the literal translation. If you'd rather not use a literal translation, as shown in the example, you may use "specific date".

Asker: I quite often do insurance translations; however, I am not familiar with "characterized date." What does "data caracterizada" mean in Portuguese? Not the translation - what does it mean? Thanks - Mike :)
