Explanation:
The Civil Codes and other legislation defines and regulates cetrtain TYPES of contract in detail, e.g. deposito, compra e venda, agência, de sociedade. These are contratos típicos. There are other contracts, which are not so defined that are more a consequence of the intentions of the parties: dealership, distributorship, leasing, purchase and sale. These are contratos atípicos. The word atypical is used to describe such contracts on IATE and in the Noronha Legal Dictionary. In French the word atypique is used. I think atypicality is a bit of a mouthful and therefore reworked the source text.
