In practice, on delivering an important document in Brazil, normally an extra copy is presented to the person receiving the document and it will receive a manual or mechanical stamp with time and date, which serves as proof of delivery of the original.
The verb for this process is "protocolar" and therefore the document delivered is "protocolado". I don't know of a single term in English with the same meaning.
I see that in one of the references offered by Liz, the translator seems to have kept clear of trying to translate this... |
