I am currently translating a letter concerning a request for documents to be provided to an Inquiry Commission. The sentence reads:

Este equiparação nao dispensa o [xxx] do dever de segredo profissional consagrado no artigo 80 do Regime Geral das Instituções de Crédito e Sociedades Financieras. Pelo contrário, obriga-o a deduzir escusa legítima, sempre que lhe seja solicitado acesso a documentação coberta pelo dever de segredo
