This is very difficult to translate without context, as "subir" could be "come up" or "go up" depending on the situation, as also "to climb". Even "o filho" could be her son or someone else's son. I have assumed it is her son as this possibility is more likely. Context please! You mention it is an elicitation exercise, could you at least say what they were talking about at the time or give other information that would help us to place the context and thus give a more accurate translation? |
