Explanation:
I'd use "pregnancies" instead of the literal "births". I believes it sounds more natural in English, and does not change the meaning.
If you want to be technical, you coukld use "calving intervals".

agree  xxxmediamatrix: Keep to the known facts: 'calving intervals'; depending on what they are trying to do, there may be a significant difference between pregnancy and calving. Always assuming it refers to cattle, of course (sheep, for example, don't 'calve', they 'lamb').

Explanation:
Births are not the same thing as pregnancies, although pregnancies may be what they wanted to say in the first place.
However, they opted for the term births so I think in this case we should go with the original
