Portuguese to English translations [PRO] Social Sciences - Mathematics & Statistics / opinion surveys
Portuguese term or phrase:base (in this context)
In an opinion survey I'm doing, the pages displaying the results mainly have a footnote saying "Base: Total de inquiridos (n=764)".
I can't have paid attention to surveys in English newspapers in the past because I can't decide whether "base" is "sample" or something else, like "basis". I can tell you that the sample size is 800 people.
