agree  Muriel Vasconcellos: I agree with 'caregiver burden inventory' - 23,000 hits. I'm not questioning 'Zarit'; it's useful information for the translator. However, I wouldn't add it to the transaltion simply because it's not there. This would would be my policy for technical work

Caregiver burden


Explanation:
Uma das fragilidades que
mais comprometem a independência e autonomia da pessoa idosa é a
incapacidade cognitiva, ou seja, perda da cognição, alterações comportamentais e
comprometimento das atividades da vida diária básicas e instrumentais, que levam
à necessidade da existência de um cuidador. Em decorrência da carência de
profissionais, ou seja, cuidadores formais e ainda pelas condições
socioeconômicas da população, de modo geral os cuidados são prestados por um
membro da família - cuidador informal. Este assume um papel para o qual não
está preparado, causando-lhe uma sobrecarga física e emocional.
