Both Portuguese and English have their own formulas for opening and closing a business letter. Business English tends to be more "compact" and to-the-point. It is usually not appropriate to wish someone "good health" when writing a professional letter. What matters is the "meat" of the letter, i.e. the middle part between the opening and closing formulas. This is generally the part that needs to be translated literally. But when it comes to opening and closing formulas, if you are trying to localize the letter to an English speaking audience, it is normally acceptable to aggressively cut out the literal translations.
