Já vi em muito rótulo só com "Sodium", em vez de "Monosodium". É coisa para economizar espaço num rótulo, e não está errado, pois pode-se dispensar o prefixo "mono" (que fica subentendido. Agora no caso de ser duplo, "disodium", ou triplo, "trisodium", aí sim precisa pôr o prefixo. Pode conferir com outras substâncias: pode-se dizer "fosfato", em vez de "monofosfato", mas "tri-fosfato" é obrigatório.

Me cortaram a frase. O tal de Sodium glutamato também é ruim para a pressão do sangue, pois é também um sal de sódio, como o sal de cozinha (aumenta a pressão de nós - velhos).
