Portuguese term or phrase: p.p.
This is one of those abbreviations that always slips my mind.
At the end of an Escritura Publica de Compra e Venda, where all the parties sign, their names are followed by the above abbreviation in parentheses. Does this mean "parte presente?"

Thanks in advance.

por procuração - per procurationem
Explanation:
My guess is that it's exactly the contrary of "partes presentes". Then it would be the same in English; pp - per procurationem

Explanation:
Geralmente p.p. significa por procuração. Cheque se o nome assinado é o que consta no documento ou é outro, no caso, de um procurador.

This abbreviation in Spanish means "por poder", and I assume it has the same meaning in Portuguese.
