Portuguese to English translations [PRO] Slang / português de Portugal | | Portuguese term or phrase: se for pra dar | This is an abused woman talking about her husband's behaviour when was drunk:
"Mas com bebida era uma pessoa muito agressiva, mau, mau que **se for pra dar** dá mesmo, não olha a meios se aquilo é de vidro, se aquilo é de ferro, se aquilo é…não olha.”
I think it means something like, "if necessary". Perhaps in this context, "if he thought you deserved it (he would hit you)".
