Actually, for the noun you may simply use "load"...:

Explanation: Apesar da explicação dada po um dos colegas estar correcta para o conjunto descritivo do que é uma lingada, gostaria de acrescentar que a carga também faz parte do conjunto e que, no contexto da estiva, o termo lingada é muitas vezes utilizado para a movimentação de uma leva da carga que será descarregada do/carregada para o navio.
Sling (mais usada) ou slingful são duas possibilidades.
Fui caixeiro de mar numa agência de navegação durante 7 anos e lidei com todos os agentes intervenientes, desde tripulações estrangeiras e nacionais a estivadores, operadores portuários, etc.

Só a título de exemplo, os operadores portuários fazem estimativas para completar determinados tipos de descargas de navios através do número de lingadas restantes, ex.: faltam umas 10 lingadas para o navio ficar pronto / para terminar a descarga/carga do navio.
