Ich neige jetzt auf den zweiten Blick doch mehr zu "elektronischer Registrierung" - im Kontext (registro kann ja beides bedeuten, auch den Vorgang). Unmöglich ist die ursprüngliche Übersetzung aber m. E. nicht.
