Portata massica [modifica]La portata di massa o portata massica (ṁ) indica la massa che scorre attraverso una sezione nell'unità di tempo e nel Sistema Internazionale si misura in kg/s (il punto sul simbolo è usato per indicare una grandezza riferita all'unità di tempo).
Per passare dalla portata volumetrica alla portata massica, è necessario moltiplicare la portata volumetrica per la densità ρ del fluido (che è espressa nel Sistema Internazionale in kg/m3).
La portata massica, o flusso massico, è quindi data dalla formula:
