First Bank of Nigeria PLC yesterday raised its authorised share capital from N10 billion to N15 billion. The new share capital is divided into 30 billion ordinary shares of 50 kobo each.

The bank’s authorised share capital was formerly N10 billion divided into 20 billion ordinary shares of 50 kobo each.

The increment was unanimously adopted by the bank’s shareholders at its 39th Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Abuja. Chairman of the bank, Alhaji Umar Abdul Mutallab also announced the payment of 1.20k dividend per share recommended for the shareholders by the Directors which was also approved by the shareholders.

Increase Authorised Share Capital · A company can increase its authorised share capital by passing an ordinary resolution (unless its articles of association require a special or extraordinary resolution). A copy of the resolution and a notice of the increase on Form 123 must reach Companies House within 15 days being passed.
