Ar mai fi si termenul (mai curind britanic) de \"redundancy\", care mi se pare chiar mai potrivit dat fiind ca semnifica concedieri pe motive economice, spre deosebire de \"layoff\" care se refera mai curind la \"the act of dismissing employees, esp. temporarily\" (Webster).

Un argument in plus ar fi ca Eurodicautom (baza de date terminologice a UE) traduce \"redundancy\" in franceza prin \"licenciement pour motif économique\".

agree  Andrei Albu: Dismissals este un alt sinonim. Apropos, nu stiu de ce autoritatile actuale spun "disponibilizari", ferindu-se ca dracul de tamaie de mai corectul "concedieri". Pai disponibilizati pentru cine sau pentru ce??
