baccalaureate examination in Romanian Explanation: I took the baccalaureate examination in Romanian yesterday. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2003-05-23 06:48:54 (GMT) -------------------------------------------------- grammar and literature daca vrei sa fii atat de exact. :) -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2003-05-26 04:54:57 (GMT) Post-grading -------------------------------------------------- Stimate Dan Dascalescu, Din nefericire nu poti sa “preferi” o prepozitie alteia atunci cand faci o retroversiune (o traducere din limba materna in limba tinta) sau cand faci o traducere. A da/sustine un examen se spune in engleza “to take an examination”, “to do an examination” sau, pentru varianta britanica a englezei, “to sit an examination”. Respectivul “examination” poate fi in buna limba englezeasca: - an examination in (cand e vorba de obiect de studiu) - examination in physics, examination in chemistry, examination in mathematics etc. - an examination on (cand e vorba de un anume subiect) examination on irregular verbs, examination on prepositions, etc. Ca sa nu dau senzatia ca tin cuiva lectii, citez un mic pasaj dintr-un ziar britanic: “When Mr. L. , the Minister of Education , was asked about the school-leaving age again at a press conference yesterday, he said that there were still a large number of problems to be considered. One reprorter from DM asked what the Government was going to do about childern who wanted to go out and earn money at the age of 16. (…) so the Government was seriously considering raising the school-leaving age sometime in the future…” Invatamantul obligatoriu nu est liceul nici in Romania, nici in Marea Britanie si nici in Statele Unite, cel putin deocamdata. Ma abtin de la comentarii. A bon entendeur salut ! |
