"Annotations, where candidates had been required to comment upon problem areas in a source text with the aim of arriving at a solution and justifying the ultimate choice made in the target text, were a compulsory aspect of the Paper 1 examination. In the 2003 session, they became optional apart from for those candidates who wished to try for a Merit or Distinction." http://www.iol.org.uk/qualifications/IoL-Dip-Trans-Handbook.... Cât despre referare, mă mai gândesc - dar atunci e vorba de doi termeni într-o singură întrebare :) -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2 hrs (2007-03-07 07:38:51 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- "Referare şi adnotare" ar putea să fie o traducere literală (oh, the irony!) a frazei ruseşti "реферат и аннотация" (referat i annotatsiya), mai ales că e vorbă de o instituţie moldoveneasă (şi asta ar explica de ce nu recunoşti termenii respectivi). A loose translation (the best I can do at 7:30am having had no sleep whatsoever): "Referat: a brief summary of the contents of a document including the main factual information and conclusions, without any additional interpretation or critical observations by the writer of the referat." 3.2 Аннотация — краткая характеристика документа с точки зрения его назначения, содержания, вида, формы и других особенностей. "Annotatsiya - a brief description of a document from the point of view of its purpose, content, type, form and other features." So I'm not sure it has anything to do with translations as such - looks like some sort of literary/linguistic exercise. Multitran gives "annotation/summary/abstract" for annotatsiya, among other things, and for "referat", ai de unde alege (take your pick): http://www.multitran.ru/c/m.exe?HL=2&L1=1&L2=2&EXT=0&s= -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 3 hrs (2007-03-07 07:45:44 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- E vorba, why do I keep writing ă?! Anyway, on the basis of the above, perhaps something equally nebulous like "text summary and description" would do, that seems to be more or less what it is. |
