Govora is a nomocanon, a compilation of civil and ecclesiastical laws, with
Byzantine origin. Varied in its content, the Pravila has many features of
disciplinary ecclesiastical code. Its purpose is that of “lowguide” for the clergy use
and it specifies the place and the role of the Church in the feudal society.
