Nu gasesc echivalentul in engleza. Mortal sin imi pare ca s-ar aplica celor 7 pacate capitale si nu pacatelor strigatoare la cer, insa as avea nevoie de ajutorul lui expert in teologie.
Explanation: Distincţia a fost dezvoltată în catolicism, în ortodoxie ea nu este canonică.
The sins that cry to Heaven (or sins that cry Out to Heaven) is a group of sins in Catholic doctrine that cuts across mortal sins and venial sins. All of them are exemplified by a biblical sin:
Willful murder – Cain's murder of his brother – Genesis 4:1-16
Sodomy – the sin of Sodom – Genesis 19:5
Oppression of the poor esp. widows, orphans and strangers for which the Catechism of the Catholic Church cites Exodus 22:20–23.

Firește că sunt canoane diferite, dar în părțile esențiale cam coincid.
Din păcate, pe cele catolice nu le-am găsit nicăieri în engleză în acestă detaliere, (nici pe wiki) în schimb le-am găsit în lb. maghiară (cu referire la dogma catolică, binențeles), iar acolo păcatele strigătoare la cer sunt exact aceleași. (pct II de la Andreea).
O altă problemă e că în română, maghiară (ce pricep eu), ”strigător la cer” apare exact în această formă, pe când engleza zice “And He said, ‘What have you done? The voice of your brother’s blood cries unto Me from the ground.’ ” Genesis 4:10. Latina tot așa : ”dixitque ad eum quid fecisti vox sanguinis fratris tui clamat ad me de terra”
....așa că am impresia că aici ne cam lovim și de ce și cum au tradus ”colegii noștrii” din vechime :)

PACATE DE CAPETENIE - SAU CAPITALE (mandria, iubirea de arginti, desfranarea, lacomia, invidia, mania, lenea)
se poate vf. in orice carte de rugaciuni ortodoxa care contine si indrumar pt. spovedanie.

Cele 7 sunt păcate (mortale), sunt cele din Biblie (with the subsequent modifications and amendments:), făcute, printre altele de papa Gregoriu I).
Păcatele capitale, în schimb, sunt cele considerate ca și ”originea” tuturor celorlalte:
”The Deadly Sins do not belong to an additional category of sin. Rather, they are the sins that are seen as the origin ("capital" comes from the Latin caput, head) of the other sins. A "deadly sin" can be either venial or mortal, depending on the situation; but "they are called 'capital' because they engender other sins, other vices."[2]”
Trebuie să ținem cont și de faptul că canoanele ortodoxe, care au ”detaliat” aceste aspecte și mai cuprinzător nu au corespondență cu limba engleză, deci aici trebuie să ne luăm după cele catolice, cu cât mai vechi, cu atât mai bine.
Problema e de semantică cele două categorii, să zic așa, pe de o parte se suprapun, iar pe de altă parte se confundă...
În cazul de față, dacă e să ne luăm după canoane, și pornind de la faptul că păcatul strigător la cer este crima, aceasta nu face parte din categoria celor care ”nu-i plac lui Iehova/ D-zeu”, însă este, categoric, un păcat capital.
Aici e vorba de o crimă, care e păcat mortal , aș zice deci că și păcatul strigător la cer e tot păcat mortal. Blatant e mai alceva, e ”nerușinat”, ”în văzul lumii” etc.
