Tiene como finalidad dar soporte a toda la solicitud de diagnóstico, estudios, etc. que sobre un paciente determinado, se realice a otro Servicio o facultativo.

El médico solicitante expondrá el diagnóstico del paciente y la razón de la interconsulta, especificando la prioridad, como urgente, preferente o normal.

La solicitud se responderá en el mismo documento de petición, siempre que ello sea posible."
