Russian to English translations [PRO] Bus/Financial - Accounting | | Russian term or phrase: материально-производственные запасы | I am not sure how to distinguish between материально-производственные запасы and запасы. Is there actually a difference?
Context: headings in a report about an accounting system
1. материально-производственные запасы
1.1 запасы
1.2 товары
1.3 готовая продукция
Under материально-производственные запасы it says that this category includes: запасы 'used to produce goods, carry out work and render services, intended for sale or used to manage the organisation', готовая продукция and товары
What generic term should I use for материально-производственные запасы? Just 'inventory'? But then what do I call запасы?
This is driving me crazy. Any help much appreciated! |

Asker: This makes sense to me. Raw materials / perhaps raw materials and component parts?
