eros and vinification 14:43 May 12, 2011
Just for a second, trying to be serious, I don't think, fellas, that the discourse is about sex/eros, what have you, per se. I think it's that the erotic innuendo is being increasingly used in describing wine qualities. Like "sensual overtones", "femminine structure" "raunchy aftertaste", "sinuous flavour" "boudoir velvety feel on the palate", and the like. That's what's increasingly going on in the area where I live and where lots of famous (not necessarily the best) and very good Italian wines are produced. Unless of course they are talking about advertising: there, as we all know, nothing sells without at least a pair of tits somwhere near by. |
