Russian term or phrase: ЦНИИПРОМЗДАНИЙ
I know what it is, but I have only so much space to fit it in. So it can't appear completely translated (will do that in another place), but so far I got

CRIIB or CRI IndustryBuild, and I don 't have time to look or think for more. Anybody, any ideas? maybe it's been done before already, I hope. (CRI IndustryBuild is one letter too many)

I would use CNIIPROMZDANIY OJC, because this is a name of a company (ОАО ЦНИИПромзданий Дмитровское шоссе, дом 46, корпус 2), but for the first time I would explaine what it means (“CENTRAL SCIENTIFIC-RESEARCH AND PROJECT-EXPERIMENTAL INSTITUTE OF INDUSTRIAL BUILDINGS AND CONSTRUCTIONS”)

Большинство клиентов, с которыми я сотрудничаю, требуют транслитерировать. У меня это возражений не вызывает. Хорошим сетевым ресурсом по этому вопросу является приведенная ссылка (см. ПРАВИЛО 4: Названия российских компаний следует транслитерировать, в некоторых случаях с указанием в скобках перевода).

Замечание rubiko1976 следует принять во внимание. Опечатался, пардон (палец соскользнул на нижний ряд клавиатуры). Конечно, TSNIIPROMZDANIY.
Только НЕ CNII...! Это перебор! Возможные ссылки на ГОСТ 7.79-2000 неуместны, так как перевод осуществляется на английский язык и для англоговорящего читателя.
